narcis xl- narcissus xl

Deze narcis vind ik erg mooi, en tegelijkertijd een lastige narcis die eigenlijk niet hoort in een tuin waar de planten  zichzelf moeten kunnen redden. Hij heeft namelijk altijd ondersteuning nodig door de mooie grote bloemen, anders knikken ze door. Daardoor heb ik braaf bij elke bloem een stokje gezet, en de bloem vastgebonden. Bij een van de narcissen is het touwtje naar halverwege gezakt, en die is gewoon halverwege geknakt. Gelukkig was die ook mooi in een vaasje.

This narcissus i find very beautiful, and at the same time a pain in the ..., who really shouldt grow in a garden like mine-ours, where the plants have to be able to manage themselves. It ALWAYS needs support, because of the beautiful large flowers. If i wouldnt support them, they just break. Thats why i have supported them all with a stick for every flower. From one narcissus the binding wire had lowered itself because of the wind, and the plant just snapped half way. Gladly the flower was also nice in a vase.

verrassing- surprise

Dit viooltje trof ik midden in het grasveld. Overgewaaid uit de hanging basket van vorig jaar...


This viola i found blooming in the middle of the grass patch. Probably seeded itself from the hanging basket of last year.

 

sneeuw/ snow

Ja het sneeuwt echt in hare majesteits achtertuin :)
Toch is het best lekker weer, 23 graden, zonnig. Ik heb heerlijk van de sneeuw genoten vandaag en ben al een beetje bruin.

The weather is really nice, today even 23 degrees celcius, which is warm for this time of the year.
I really enjoyed the snow today and even got a little tan.
Here are the pictures when it didnt snow, yesterday and the day before yesterday.

De krentenboom laat het sneeuwen, en het grasveld wordt langzaam wit, jammer altijd hoe snel deze boom, officieel een struik maar bij ons op boomhoogte, alweer uitgebloeid is. Vooral bij mooi weer. Gelukkig zijn er dit jaar op tijd foto´s gemaakt.

The Amelanchier is making it snow, and the grass patch is slowly turning white. Too bad this tree , officially a shrub but in our garden as large as a tree, blossoms out so soon. Especcially with nice weather. This year i luckily made the pictures on time.

Rare druifjes / strange grape hyacinths

Deze blauwe druifjes bloeien nu in hare majesteits tuin:

 

gewone druifjes, die weer raar zijn in dit bericht omdat dit over rare druifjes gaat

normal grape hyacinths, wich are weird in this item, cause its about strange grapes.

  The Common Dutch name for these is litterally translated: Blue grapes

Officieel is de nederlandse naam hiervan: "witte blauwe druifjes", vreemd :)

Because the normal ones are called blue grapes, the officially correct dutch name is litterally translated: "white colored blue grapes" strange huh :)? 

Vreemde blauwe druif, die niet kan kiezen tussen licht of donkerblauw.

en de bizarste, al is deze nog niet helemaal in bloei: blauwe broccoli druifjes :) (zo noem ik ze :) )

The most bizarre shaped, although not fully blooming yet: blue broccoli grapes (thats how I named them :) )

kievitsbloem/ Snake's head fritillary

In het wild staat deze bloem in Nederland op de rode lijst van beschermde planten. In mijn tuin heb ik de bolletjes aangeplant, en omdat het een lastige gast schijnt te zijn, ben ik blij dat de kievitsbloem het zo goed doet en voor  het tweede jaar bloeit.  Blijkbaar is het schaduwrijke stukje tuin, precies nat genoeg, en niet té nat.
Of zou het aan de natte nazomer en herfst liggen dat het plantje nog leeft? In dat geval heeft ieder nadeel zijn voordeel :) Ik hoop dat de leliehaantjes ze dit jaar met rust laten (zie blog van vorig jaar)

In nature this plant is an endangered species in the Netherlands, and its protected by law. In the garden I just planted the bulbs, and because its not an easy plant from what I've read, I am extra glad that it grows so well, and flowers for the second time in our garden. Apparently the shady part of the garden is exactly wet enough, but not too wet . Or is it the wet indian summer and fall that caused the plant to survive? In that case every bad thing has it good thing :) I hope the scarlet lilly beetles will leave them alone, cause last year they ate the flowers in 2  or 3 days :S

Lammetjes/lambs

Vandaag heb ik een flink stuk gefietst en ik zag de eerste lammetjes al , schattig! De foto is aan de overkant van het riviertje de Linge genomen en daardoor is het een beetje ver weg. Als je op de foto klikt kun je de lammetjes beter zien.

Today I bicycled quite far (for me) and i spotted the first lambs, cute! The picture is made from the other side of the river and thats why it looks a bit far away. If you click the picture you'll see them better.

hebbes!

de oosterse anemonen (anemone blanda) met open bloemen, vaak ben ik te laat en dan hebben ze hun bloemen dicht voor de nacht. Nu heb ik ze eindelijk goed op de foto.  In het echt is de bloemkleur zachter blauw.

Gotcha! The anemone blanda's have their flowers open, usually i am to late and then they have closed their flowers for the night. Now i finally managed to photograph them the correct way.
The flowers have a softer shade then in the picture.
