kasteel de haar

vorig weekend waren wij op de elf fantasy fair. Het was voornamelijk koud en regenachtig op zaterdag, maar toen de zon doorbrak was het prachtig!

Het wordt elk jaar half april georganiseerd op het terrein van het prachtige kasteel De Haar in Haarzuilens. 
Ook op normale dagen zonder evenementen kun je ook een rondleiding maken en dit is echt de moeite waard. De kasteeltuin is mooi, het kasteel is mooi en het interieur is prachtig!

Last weekend we visited the elf fantasy fair. The weather was most of the time, chilly, and rainy, but when the sun got trough the clouds, it was wonderful!

This yearly fairy tale event is being organised on the grounds of the beautiful castle De Haar in Haarzuilens (near Utrecht)  
Also on days without fairs, its possible to take a tour of the castle, and its worth the effort. The castle garden is beautiful, the castle itself is also beautiful and the interior is breathtaking.

het wouda gemaal

Vandaag zijn we heel vroeg opgestaan voor een zondag, namelijk al om 7 uur.
Door de vele regenval is het al een week heel erg hoog water, en om al dat water af te voeren is het Wouda gemaal aangezet.

Het is het grootste nog op stoom werkende gemaal ter wereld en staat daardoor op de UNESCO werelderfgoedlijst.
Het is niet vaak zulk hoog water dat hij aangezet moet worden, en daardoor zijn we naar het hoge noorden (friesland) afgereisd om dit stuk techniek met eigen ogen te bewonderen.

Today we got up very early for a sunday, at 7 o clock.
Because of the many rainfall, the water level in the canals was very high, and to keep our northern province dry, they put the Wouda pumping station in action.

Its the biggest steam operated water pumping station of the world, and because of this its on the UNESCO world heritage list.
It doesnt happen really often that its necessary to get it into action, so we travelled up north to watch this cool piece of technique.

ok het zijn niet de beste foto's maar het was nogal druk en er liepen steeds mensen langs, hierdoor heb ik ze heel snel genomen. In het echt is het natuurlijk veel indrukwekkender.

Ok the pictures arent the best quality but it was a bit crowded and people where walking by often, because of this i had to take the pictures very quick. To watch it "live"is way cooler.

ok foto's zijn snel genomen want ik was onderweg naar een vrijgezellenfeest van een vriendin.
Zelfs als je haast hebt is onze hoofdstad een mooie stad, Amsterdam is een van mijn favoriete steden (samen met Delft, Maastricht Groningen).

ok pictures are taken in a hurry cause i was underway to a bachelorette party of a friend.
Even if you are in a rush, our capital is a very nice and beautiful city, Amsterdam is one of my favorite Dutch cities to visit  (Delft Maastricht and Groningen are also in my list of favorites).

het glaasje is half vol en niet half leeg / the glass is half full and not half empty

Die heb ik heel vaak leeg moeten gooien, het was de natste zomer sinds 1906!
De somberste in 14 jaar, en zo goed als de hele zomer was het kouder dan gemiddeld.

Het glas is dus voor meer dan de helft vol :)

Wat heeft hare majesteit al die tijd gedaan en waarom was het zo rustig?

Het bezoeken van sprookjeskastelen, sprookjeskasteelruine's met mooie paarse bloempjes en de mooie natuur, tijdens de kampeervakantie met onze vriendengroep.

I had to empty the glass very often, it was the wettest summer since 1906!
It was also the darkest in 14 years and almost every day it was colder then average.
 

So the glass is (almost) full :)

And what did i do all this time of not-blogging:


Visit the fairy-tale castles, and ruins with nice flowers growing on them, and beautiful nature during our little camping trip with some friends in luxembourg.

Daarna hebben we ons huurhuis gekocht..
Ik kan nu lekker in ONZE EIGEN tuin tuinieren :) Ons eerste huis.
Uiteraard is de boel opknappen dan veeeel leuker :)
Een stukje  van de voorheen baby blauwe logeerkamer.
Er komt ook nog een keertje een ander bed in, ik heb mijn oude en veel mooiere eenpersoonsbed nog bij mijn ouders liggen :)
Dat verven heb ik zelf na het werk gedaan.


Volgende klus wordt het plaatsen van een keuken, mijn vriend  man kan dat gelukkig want daar heb ik geen kaas van gegeten :)

Then we bought the house we rented.
Our house and garden is now really really ours :) Its our first own house ever  :)
I think improving your home is waaay nicer to do.. :)
A piece of the formerly baby blue guest room...
I will replace the bed in the future for my old single bed, its still at my parents attic,  it looks better :) 
I did the painting myself and it had to happen after work.

Next improvement project will be placing a new kitchen, i have lots of confidence my boyfriend husband can do it cause i am not that handy. :)

Daarna een hele hoop verjaardagen van vrienden want iedereen heeft maar besloten in de zomer geboren te zijn :)

After that lots of birthdays of friends, cause everybody decided to be born in summer :)

Dus druk druk druk, maar allemaal heel leuk, het glas is halfvol, ook al is dat vol regen :)
So very buisy summer, full of nice things, and the glass is half full, even when its full of rain :)
