voordat je het weet is het zomer :) Volgens mij is de natuur& de tuin 3 tot 4 weken vroeger als in die ijskoude winter van 2010, plotseling bloeit er van alles, en elke dag zijn er meer bloembollen die zich van hun mooiste kant laten zien.

Before you know it it will be summer, nature and garden are 3 /4 weeks earlyer than in freezing and snowy 2010. Suddenly a lot of plants are blooming, and every day there are more and different flowerbulbs who show off their beautiful flowers.

mooie blauwe sterretjes, hier en daar bloeit een toefje in de tuin, hier wat meer en verderop wat minder wat een prachtig wild effect geeft..

these beautiful blue little stars do i really like, here and there there are flowering bunches of different amounts of flowers, which gives a nice natural effect.

De kado-van-het-tuincentrum-viooltjes, staan mooi in bloei nu. Ik hou ervan als bloempotten er niet te nieuw uit zien, mos is welkom. Van nature groeit er vanzelf mos op, maar als je het wat wil versnellen (bijvoorbeeld bij een gloednieuwe pot) moet je yoghurt op de pot smeren, de pot is dan bemost/groen in no-time. Schijnt zelfs te werken op plastic :)

The gift-from-the-garden-centre viola's are blossoming right now.  I like pots with moss on it, if you want to have moss on your brand new pot, you should put some yoghurt on it, it will be green in no-time. I have heard this even works on plastic.

komeet/comet

Gisteren, vroeg in de morgen, leek door de vliegtuigstrepen de zon net een komeet :)
Doordat de trein nog reed moest ik snel een foto maken, daardoor helaas een vlek in de hoek.
Zicht op Arnhem van de spoorbrug, het water wat je ziet is de rijn.


Yesterday, early in the morning, the sun looked like a comet because of the airplaine stripes in the sky.
Because the train was still moving, i had to take a picture very fast, thats why theres a black spot in the corner.
This is a view towards the city Arnhem from the train bridge, the water you see in the picture is the river Rhine.

ziekjes geweest / been sick

Niets ernstigs, al was het wel een naar griepje, gelukkig gaat het nu stukken beter en kan ik temminste weer van alles in de tuin genieten.

Deze viooltjes kreeg ik gratis van het tuincentrum toen ik de helleborussen kocht. Ze stonden nog niet in bloei toen ik ze kreeg. maar door het warme weer beginnen ze langzaam te bloeien.
Gelukkig kleinbloemige viooltjes, die vind ik veel mooier dan die grote. Dit zijn blauw met witte.

De tuin staat niet stil, momenteel is er een echte narcissen explosie gaande.
Tete a tete narcisjes en een ander wat groter soort met een oranje hart (is op de foto niet echt duidelijk oranje).  Volgens mij jettfire.




Been sick, nothing serious, just a nasty flu but i am doing well now, and i can enjoy the garden again.

I have gotten viola for free when i bought the hellebore's a few weeks again, and they are starting to bloom. I like viola's better than pansy's, so i am very happy with this present. It is the blue and white color.

The garden is not standing still, everywhere narcissus are blooming now, it has been nice warm weather the last few days.
Most narcissusses in my garden are the very small tete a tete kind, and i also have a few with an orange cup, i think they are the jettfire kind.

rhododendron

De eerste bloem  op de rhododendron, mensen vinden het vaak een ouderwetse plant, ik vind het meer een klassieker. :)

The first flower on our rhododendron, a lot of people over here consider this an oldfashioned plant, i think its more like an golden oldie :) .

een paar dagen met mooi weer later en er komen meteen allerlei krokusjes de mand uit piepen.

Momenteel bloeien er meer grootbloemige soorten dan kleinbloemige. 

De kleinbloemige soorten vind ik het mooist in onze tuin, omdat die natuurlijker eruit zien,. 

Toch zijn grootbloemige wel leuk om in de tuin te hebben, want doordat ze het stokje overnemen van de kleinbloemige soorten, hebben we langer bloeiende krokussen in de tuin :)

At the moment there are more large flowering crocusses in bloom then small flowered species. 

I like the small flowered types best in our garden, because they have a more natural apperance.

Besides this, large flowered crocusses are nice to have. They flower later, and because of this we can enjoy flowering crocusses longer.

de bloembollenmand/the flower bulb basket

zoals je kan zien is er al van alles opgekomen in de rieten bollenmand in de achtertuin.
dat blad met dat rood/paars zijn felrode tulpen, de smalle sprietjes zijn blauwe druifjes. Kijk maar wat je nog meer herkent :)
De achtertuin is op het noordwesten. Hierdoor bloeit alles achter een paar weken later dan in de voortuin.


3 jaar geleden heb ik deze mand gekocht, eerst heb ik gaten in het plastic gemaakt, en toen heb ik m beplant.
Om rot van de mand te voorkomen heb ik de mand op 4 baksteentjes gezet.
Het valt me erg mee dat hij zo lang meegaat, want hij staat in weer en wind, zomer en winter buiten :)

As you can see, a lot of leafs are emerging from the bulb basket in the backyard.
The red and green leafs are tulips, the thin leafs are grape hyacints, and theres a lot of different bulb leafs visible.
Our backyard is facing north west, and because of this, everything flowers a few weeks later there, then in the frontyard.

3 Years ago i bought a wicker potato basket, and lots of flowerbulbs. Before i planted it, i cut holes in the plastic inside the basket, so the water can flow away if theres too much of it.
I put it on 4 small bricks so the bottom wont rot away.

It amazes me that it lasts so long, i just leave it outside in summer and winter, and it didnt rot (yet?).

helleborussen/helebore's

Vorige week heb ik 2 helleborussen gekocht, een dubbele en een hele donkere.
ik hoop dat ik veel kruisingen krijg, een dubbele donkere bijvoorbeeld :)
 Maar ze zijn zo ook al mooi,

Last week i bought 2 hellebore's.
I hope they wil mate, and i get lots and lots of hybrids :)
I would like a double dark one.
But then, i think this hellebore's are very pretty already.
